Pregnancy Tracker & Baby Diary is a health and parenting app designed to support you through your pregnancy journey. I found it on Google Play while looking for a simple way to track my weeks and symptoms. The app launched a couple of years ago and is available on both Google Play and the App Store, so it covers most users. It has over a million installs, which made me trust it more. The download is free, and you do not need to create an account to start using the basic features, which I really liked. There are some in app purchases if you want extra tools, and there are ads, but they are not too annoying.
When I first opened the app, I added my due date and it automatically showed my current week and what was happening with my baby. I use the daily tracker to log my mood, weight, and any symptoms like nausea or back pain. The baby diary part lets me add photos and notes, which has been great for keeping memories. A tip I learned is to set a daily reminder for your vitamins, because the app lets you do that and it really helps you stay consistent. I also like how the app gives simple articles each week, so I never feel lost. It is easy to switch between tabs, and everything loads fast, even on my older phone.
Compared to other apps like Ovia or What to Expect, this one feels more simple and clean. Those apps have so many buttons and pop-ups that I got confused. This one keeps things basic, which works better for me. I also like that it does not push too many paid features in your face. With other apps, I felt like I was always being asked to upgrade. Here, the free version is enough for most days. I have tried a few, but I keep coming back to this one because it does what I need without extra stress. It is not perfect, but for my daily use, it has been a solid choice.
features
- 📅 Week-by-week baby size info: The app shows a fruit or veggie size comparison each week, which makes it fun to see. In apps like Flo, this part is hidden behind a paywall, but here it is free and easy to read.
- 📝 Daily symptom log: You can track mood, sleep, and pain in seconds. The interface is quick, and the history view helps you spot patterns. Other apps make you type a lot, but this one just needs a tap.
- 👶 Baby diary with photos: You can add photos and short notes about your baby bump or ultrasound. It feels personal and private. Similar apps like BabyCenter have this too, but here it is more direct and less cluttered.
- 🔔 Custom reminders for vitamins and doctor visits: You set the time, and the app sends a gentle notification. This is a small thing, but it really helps me stay on track. Some other apps only give reminders for appointments, not for daily pills.
pros
- 💚 Free core features: You get the main tracker and diary without paying, which is rare. Many competitors lock basic tools behind a subscription, so this is a big plus.
- 🧭 Simple layout: Everything is where you expect it to be. I never need a tutorial. Other apps have too many tabs and menus, which slows me down.
- 📱 Works offline: I can log my symptoms even without internet, and it syncs later. That is something I have not seen in most similar apps.
cons
- 📢 Ads in the free version can pop up at odd times, like when I am typing a diary note. Other apps show ads less often.
- 📊 The weight tracking chart is basic. It does not give much insight about healthy ranges, which apps like Ovia do better.
