Brainova is a puzzle game app that helps you train your mind with fun and tricky challenges. I first found this app on Google Play a few months ago, and it has been a great way to pass the time while keeping my brain active. The app is free to download on both Google Play and the App Store, and it has over a million installs, which shows that many people love it. You don't really need to register to start playing, which I like a lot. But there are some in app purchases if you want to unlock extra content or remove ads. The ads are not too annoying, so even the free version feels complete enough for daily use.
To use the app, you just open it and start solving puzzles and logic questions. There are many different types of games inside, like pattern recognition, memory challenges, and math problems. I usually play for about ten minutes when I am waiting for the bus or just relaxing at home. A simple tip from my experience is to try each category at least once, because you never know which one you will enjoy the most. I also like that the app tracks your progress and gives you a score, so you can see how your skills improve over time. Downloading it was super fast, and the install process was smooth without any issues. The app does not require much storage space, which is always a plus for me.
Compared to similar apps like Mensa IQ Test or Peak, Brainova feels more casual and welcoming. While Mensa tests can be very serious and stressful, Brainova is more like playing a game while still learning. I also tried Lumosity before, but I found Brainova simpler and less pushy about subscriptions. The app does not force you to sign up for a premium plan right away, which makes it feel more honest. I chose this app over others because it is easy to use, has a nice design, and offers a good mix of fun and brain training. It is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their thinking skills without spending too much time or money.
features
- 🧩 Logic puzzles and IQ tests: The app offers a wide range of puzzles that test your logical thinking and problem solving skills. It feels like a real brain workout, and each level gets slightly harder, which keeps things interesting. I like that you can repeat any test to beat your own score.
- 📊 Progress tracking: Brainova shows your score history and gives a detailed breakdown of your strengths and weaknesses. This is something I did not see much in other puzzle apps. For example, Mensa IQ Test only gives you a final score, but here you can learn which areas you need to improve.
- 🎮 Variety of game modes: Unlike apps like Peak that focus more on memory games, Brainova includes math, logic, and visual puzzles too. This variety makes the app feel fresh every time I open it. I never get bored because there is always something new to try.
- ⏱ Quick sessions: Each puzzle takes only a few minutes, which makes the app perfect for short breaks. Other apps sometimes have long tests that require too much time, but Brainova is designed for quick play sessions, which works well for busy people like me.
pros
- 🌟 User friendly design: The app is easy to navigate, and the instructions are clear. Compared to Lumosity, which can feel cluttered, Brainova keeps everything simple and clean.
- 💡 Truly free to play: You can enjoy most of the content without paying. Many similar apps hide important features behind paywalls, but Brainova gives you a lot for free.
- 🧠 Good for all ages: The puzzles are not too hard or too easy. My younger brother and my dad both play it, and that says a lot about how balanced the app is.
cons
- 🔁 Repetitive after a while: After playing for a few weeks, some puzzles feel very similar. Apps like Peak offer more variety with new daily challenges.
- 📱 Occasional bugs: Sometimes the app freezes or crashes when switching between games. It does not happen often, but it can be a little annoying.
