Robux is a simple 2D platformer that I found on Google Play. It is a mobile-only game, so you cannot play it on PC or console. The game is free to download, which is nice. However, it does have ads that pop up from time to time. There are also in-app purchases if you want to remove those ads or get some cosmetic items. The prices for those are pretty low, usually around a dollar. It is not a heavy game either, so it runs fine on most phones. I have played many platformers over the years, and this one does not try to do too much. It just gives you a solid jumping and running experience.

The gameplay is very straightforward. You control a small character and you need to jump over gaps and avoid obstacles. There are also coins to collect, which you can use to unlock new skins. The best part of the game is the level design. The levels are short but clever. They make you think a little before you jump. My favorite part is the wall-jumping mechanic. It feels really smooth. When you hit a wall, you can slide down and then jump off in the opposite direction. It took me a few tries to get used to it, but once I did, it felt great. The controls are also very responsive. There is no lag, and the touch buttons work well. I never felt like the game was cheating me because of bad controls. That is a big deal for me in mobile platformers.

If you have played games like Doodle Jump or Geometry Dash, this will feel familiar. But Robux is slower and more about timing than speed. I prefer it over Geometry Dash because it is less punishing. In Geometry Dash, one mistake sends you back to the start. Here, you just restart the short level. It is much less frustrating. I also think it is better than Doodle Jump because Doodle Jump is endless, but Robux has a clear end. You can actually beat the game. That gives you a goal to work toward. I recommend Robux to anyone who likes casual platformers. It is not the best game in the world, but it is a fun way to pass the time. You can play it in short bursts, and it does not demand too much from you.

features

  • Simple controls : Touch buttons are big and easy to use. Very responsive, no delays.
  • Short levels : Each level is under a minute. Perfect for playing on a bus or short break.
  • Collectibles : Coins are hidden in tricky spots. Gives you a reason to replay levels.
  • Unlockable skins : You can change your character look with coins. Nice little reward system.
  • Wall jumping : This is the core mechanic. It is fun and smooth once you learn it.
  • No forced speed : Unlike Geometry Dash, you go at your own pace. Much less stressful.

pros

  • Good pick up and play : You can finish a level in one minute. Great for quick sessions.
  • Fair difficulty : The game ramps up slowly. It never feels unfair or too hard.
  • Offline mode : You can play without internet. No need for a connection at all.

cons

  • Too many ads : Free version has ads after every few levels. Gets annoying quickly.
  • Short game : There are only 50 levels. You can beat it in a few hours. Not much replay.
  • No leaderboards : There is no way to compare scores. Lacks a competitive edge.
